Subject: Re: Music 500(0) - Ample

In answer to Marc's original question, you can play MIDI out with the Music
2000, so I don't see why you can't connect that up to some other machine with
a MIDI in & sequencer and save it to a MIDI file that way. However, I'm not
so sure you'll be in luck if you were writing music on a M500 rather than the
M5000. Sibelius, on the 32-bit Acorn machines, will convert a MIDI file into
a musical score if that's what you want (to varying degrees of success).

In answer to Andrew's question; I have, sitting in my bedroom, a complete
`AMPLE' system. Offers, anyone? The individual bits are:

   Music 5000: Synthesiser
   Music 4000: 4 octave keyboard
Music 3000: Expander synthesiser (basically, another M5000)
Music 2000: MIDI in & out, although the original supplied sw only supports
               MIDI out.
Music 1000: Amplifier - which is currently attached to my RiscPC.

I think there's a problem in splitting it up as I don't think that the
software will run against any other serial number of AMPLE Rom, so it's all or
nothing, isn't it?

Cheers,
James Sargent
