Subject: How to make Beeb 2 PC cable

Hi all,

Just to wake you up again, I've got a question.

This weekend I'm going to try to transfer my bbc software
by cable to my pc, so I can run it using one of the emulators
(and make it available via the Internet, of course). Unfortunately
I don't quite know how to make this cable.

Is the Beeb's RS423 pin-compatible with a PC's RS232? If so,
could I just buy a PC-to-PC cable and use it for the Beeb-to-PC
transfer? If not, does any1 know how to make such a cable?
(I have some sparse instructions on doing so; unfortunately
I'm not very much into hardware and the phrase "connect the
usual pins" doesn't help me much.)

Your help 'd be much appreciated. If I succeed I'll let you know
where you can download the software.

Mark.
