  That sounds sensible. Some kind of multi-line decoder on the user/parallel
port would do that nicely I would have thought. Shouldn't be too
difficult.
  If you want some help from someone who doesn't live too far away from you,
let me know. I'm no electronics expert but I think I could do something.
