I have successfully used two 3.5" drives on my Beeb. The first is an old
Cumana single density, which I use with DFS to give 200k per side, and the
second is a high density drive from a PC, which I have just got working.
With this I can use DFS to give 400k as with the other one, or ADFS to
give 640k.

One thing to watch out for with the PC drive is that they are all
(usually) set up by default as drive B, but PC cables have a 'twist' in
them to turn one of the drives back to drive A. To use it as drive 0/2 on
a Beeb you will either have to put a twist in your cable, or find the
setting on the drive to turn it back to drive A.

Connecting the two drives at the same time is probably the easiest way,
just set one as drive 0/1 and the other as 2/4.
