What was the error - Disc fault 18?

is the *format command in the ROM? If you have done *Drive 1 *format and 
the format command isn't in a ROM it will try to load format from the 
unformatted disc. I have had a similar setup working fine with a 1770 
interface, but I would of thought it would be OK with a 8271.
