Utilities for transfering data between a BBC and a PC can be found at
http://www.nvg.ntnu.no/bbc/software.html.  Reading BBC disks on a PC is
dodgy, you're very lucky if it works.  Decoding BBC tapes via a
soundcard usually works quite well.  Using a serial cable is probably
the best solution (best compromise between speed and stability), and
then you should go for Mark de Weger's XFer (a DOS program which
includes docs on building the cable, as well).  Wouter Scholten is also
developing a similar program for Linux.
