Possibly, but the people using this list tend to know more about the
Beeb then the average user and so will be able to help out anyway.

Errr.. I'm not wildly over-enthusiastic about downloading a load of
posts from people detailing their configurations. I get plenty of sleep
thanks, don't need any more <g>

Nope. I have a Watford 32k ram card, ATPL, two sideways RAM banks, a
RTC and Torch *inside* my standard BBC case. Gets a tad warm, mind you
but it all works <g>

All you need to get started is the MCP ROM. The version varies with the
disc controller in the machine, so if you have the wrong MCP rom, it
won't work. MCP n.nn xxi (eg 0.41 CBL) is for the Intel 8271, MCP n.nn
xxW is for the Western Digital 1770.

I can mail you the ROM file(s) you need if you wish. Stick the ROM in a
spare socket, type *MCP and you're in CPN (Torch's version of CP/M).
CP/N is held in a ROM, called the CCCP (CP/N command processor) on the
Torch card itself, so you don't need to boot it from a disc like you
would with the Acorn Z80.

Buy a PC, run an emulator. BeebEm 0.8 is _excellent_ - I downloaded it
today. Hardware upgrades are tricky though <g>

Hope not. This reply has probably sent most of the list readers to
sleep <g>
