I don't know.  I don't recognise it.  I doubt whether it belongs to the
Beeb, but, as you say, if you found it wedged between a couple of RAM
chips, it's little wonder you are having RAM problems. It looks a little
like the inner core of a BNC plug, used in co-ax ethernet.

Try moving link S25 to its south position, which tells the machine it is
a 16k unit and see if the video faults go.  If they do, the problem is
likely to be in the upper 16k af actual RAM, rather than the addressing
logic.  Are the RAM chips socketed?  Do any get hot?
