Well, I can't answer this question in the BBC micro context 
but I remember sometime in 1980 or 1981, a Dutch (I think)
radio station transmitted a ZX81 program.  I recorded it, 
and surprisingly, it worked, despite being transmitted over 
medium wave.  The program transmission lasted 5 or 10 
minutes and the program itself was a rather simple game of
some kind.
