The Arc keyboard protocol is subtly different from that of PC keyboards -
although the RiscPC (maybe A5000/A4 etc???) will let you use PC keyboards.
I can't imagine how to use a PC keyboard ona Beeb - unless you wired it
upto the user support I suppose some how.

They should work - (make sure they let you use a separate power supply!) - 
they weren't for PCs - but they are fairly common; try RS or Farnel.
