Subject: BBC emulator on Linux?

Is anyone succesfully running a BBC emulator under Linux? I have tried both
xbeeb and BeebEm, but neither seems to work. They both compile OK, but on
running them I get the following error messages:

xbeeb: Failed to allocate colour planes!!!
BeebEm: an X error on display :0.0text: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)

Both errors seem to be related to X windows, so I'm presuming that the
emulators were written for an older version of X (I'm running Xfree86 3.3.1).
Does anyone know what the problem is, or have a precompiled (preferably libc6)
version?

Thanks in advance,
Chris
