Beebem will only run on an 8 bit display - you've obviously got a snazzy
16 bit
or 24 bit display.

Beebem was originally written on Linux, and versions of it have been
tested
on Linux, SunOS, Solaris, HPUX and MS-Windows - and probably a few
others.
