Yes, its true that pressing <Space> amplifies the steering (the game's
impossible to play without it), but the "Computer Assisted Steering" feature
is separate. It's switched on with Shift+F6 and off with Shift+F3. A symbol
is claimed to appear on the speedo - but it doesn't on my version, and
basically nothing seems to happen.
