Indeed. A few messages later in this thread I corrected that. I think my
brain overheated and shut down for a moment!

We have two solutions sorted out; one is Stuart McConnachie's method of
stripping a PS/2 mouse, and essentially building a quadrature one from
it. The other is to use Stuart Tyrrell's PS2Mouse system, wired for
the user port (although you say the Compact uses a D-type?)

If anyone is interested in Stuart Tyrrell's box, can they get in contact
with him?

You're slightly out, anyway. RiscPCs use quadrature meeces (but they use
PS/2 keyboards, which is what you're probably thinking of). A7000s use
PS/2 meeces, tho'.
