That's working as expected. You need to *configure file to the DFS
ROM (9, by the looks of it). Probably worth unplugging the old ADFS
OTOH, if you have an ADFS format disc available, plug this in, and it'll
boot fine - it's expecting to see an ADFS format disc at boot.

Sounds like some electronic failure (could be minor, could be major).
Take the lid off and have a peek.
