You need a ROM with the extensions to the BBC OS to handle the IO to and
from the tube processor. This is called the TUBE HOST ROM, but the code
was included in many of the later Acorn DFS ROMS as it is only a small
and thus saves a ROM socket. It's certainly in the Watford 8271 DFS ROM
version 1.44 (under licence from Acorn) and also the Acorn 1770 DFS ROM
version 2.23. To check yours, search the DFS ROM contents for a text
string similar to TUBE HOST 2.20 which is printed as a response to *HELP
(but only when the tube is connected). There is also a standalone ROM,
but I've no idea where you might find it (Basically I'd advise upgrading
your DFS ROM to a later version).

Optionally you might also want to install HIBASIC. HIBASIC is a version
of BASIC II which was assembled to run at &B800 instead of &8000. This
is copied across to the 2ndP during initialization and hence gives you
14K extra program and variable space (compared with the normal version
of BASIC running across the tube) However this has one fairly major
problem in that you can't then boot the machine as a standalone beeb
without a second processor. I prefer to keep a copy of HIBASIC on disk
and load it as necessary. HIBASIC can be obtained from the following
site:
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/7207/index.html

Those are the only two ROMS you need (other than the one that should
still be in the 2ndP box itself!).
