Jump into it using *FX142,n where n is the ROM socket it's plugged into,
and see what happens.

On the circuit board, the rightmost socket number is 15, the next is 14,
etc.  so if your RX-8 ROM is plugged into the third socket from the
right, you would issue *FX142,13.

'RX' is shorthand for 'receiver' in electronics parlance, so I wonder if
your ROM has something to do with packet radio or serial comms.
