I didn't realize that Acorn had ever released a 16-bit Acorn computer. I
thought they quantum leaped into 32-bit with their Archimedes series. Has
there ever been any software comerically produced for it?

Well, I think you would need support for the 16-bit CPU in terms of being
aboe to take advantage of the extra technology. In BBC B's and Masters
the memory architecutre along with the OSes produced for it only support
the 8-bit. Technically, your machine might work with the 65816 but I shouldn't
expect that you will not be able to take advantage of it's 16-bit capabilities
with the OS, archtecture and the BASICs etc. assuming only 8-bit functionality.
I also expect that the system, depending on the OS, will not work right
due to backwards compatibility problems like the Master has with the B.
Then again, I've never seen or touched an Acorn Communicator and only relying
on expertise from other systems, so I don't know. :-)
