Following on from Joel's comments:

Because not everyone has the ability to read HTML messages, the "standard"
format for all messages sent to mailing lists should be "plain text".

Outlook allows different colours and font sizes to be embedded in a message,
which are not compatible with "Plain Text".

In your third message, Outlook had formatted your reply, so that the mail
you quoted was in a different colour to the text of your reply. In plain
text, however, the usual method of quoting text is to use a '>' character in
front of each quoted line. I think this is what gARetH was complaining
about.

Your forth message came through correctly as "plain text", this is probably
due to the fact that you were replying to a "plain text" message. There is a
parameter setting for changing the sending format in Outlook.

Again, may I express that your contributions to this list are valued.

Steve.
