The problem is that the ADFS and DFS formats are completely different. One
cannot read the other. You need a DFS formatter, such as that offered at the
bottom of http://www.voyager.co.nz/~mikef/bbc.htm . I don't know the
specifics of the 8271, but I assume 1770 DFS's such as that effectively is
write compatible discs, or what was the point of inventing one in the first
place?
