Hi,

Most of acorn DFS did not come with disk formatters. It was up to the
manufacturer to provide a disk based one.
Watford /opus / solidisk dfs have a formatter built in other wise you have
to trace down a rom like disk doctor or enigma.

Subject: [BBC-Micro] Formatting BBC discs

I have added a PC 1.44MB floppy disc drive to my BBC B with an 8271
interface and DFS1.21. Since I don't have the Acorn/BBC utility disc that
has the format command, I'm only able to format the discs for the BBC using
ArcDFS on my Acorn A3010.

Is there a Disc Utilities ROM that has the formatting software routine that
I need?

Also, what other utilities are on the Acorn/BBC utility disc that I might
need?

Chris
