Thanks for the reply.  I have read through the troubleshooting section
which seemed to cover not being able to transmit anything or getting
errors.  During my first few attempts at cable building I was getting
"Invalid data received - please try again" at the Beeb end, but having
re-worked the cable I do not get any error messages at all.  I will
revisit the troubleshooting section, and congratulations on an excellent
piece of software.

Yes, the bug you refer to has been solved. Being able to transfer files
less than 4096 bytes doesn't necessarily mean the handshaking works.
Suppose the first one's at 4096 bytes?

The file XferInc.txt in the archive contains extensive text on
troubleshooting. It mentions various tests you can do to find out what
the problem is. And, indeed, the single most common problem is a faulty
cable.
