I have a fairly insignificant observation which almost certainly won't help
- this is exactly 
what ElectrEm produces when the keyboard is all messed up. That fact becomes far 
more insignificant when you notice that the Electron keys are supposed to
be able to 
produce key words, and that it is easy to mess with hardware access to the
keyboard by 
accident because the Electron hardware just treats the keyboard as a paged ROM.

I think, as Sprow has already said, I saw the same sort of things as a result
of the BRK 
instruction not working as it should, however I should add that just confusing
when the B 
flag is set and when it isn't was enough for the Electron ROMs. Not that
this is probably 
your problem either, since you won't have touched the CPUs.
