Subject: New and Improved: BBC Micro mailing list archive
It is my pleasure to announce the relaunch of the BBC Micro and Beeb
Emulators mailing list archives.
Great improvements have been made to the site and many more are planned
for the future. Some of the visible changes are listed below.
The BBC Micro mailing list archive is now available online at:
The BBC Emulators mailing list archive is available online at:
o All messages are now presented as web pages.
o All messages are fully linked and threaded, it is now possible to
navigate all posts and threads very easily.
o Following comments from people on this mailing list all email
addresses everywhere in the archive have been reduced to myemail@...
to protect privacy and to prevent spam harvests from getting any of
your email addresses. Care has been taken to ensure the layout of
signitures remains intact. This is the main reason that the messages
themselves were not previuosly searchable.
o The site search feature has been greatly enhanced. The message
indexes are now fully searchable and the messages themselves should be
indexed by Google soon.
The archive should have new posts added during the first week of each
month as time allows.
An announcement to comp.sys.acorn.announce will be made as the mailing
list is now in the final beta stage and is ready for the world.
An archive of the info-cpm usenet group is also available at:
This is a joint project between myself, Jon Ripley, and Jonathan
Harston. Thanks are also due to James Fidell for hosting the mailing
lists, Andy Nelson for providing the web space and to majordomo who
supplies all the messages.
