Subject: Unusual DFS

I've been given (another!) BBC-B but this one has an unsual disk 
interface. There is a plug-in PCB similar to the Acorn and other DFS  
PCB's, labelled "United Disk Memories Ltd" but the FDC controller is a 
40-pin WD2793A-PL02, rather than a 1770 or 8271. It reports being DDFS- 
capable.

I did a web search on this animal but the only mention I found was in a 
Siemens PC-D.
Has anyone encountered one of these and if so what incompatabilities 
might I expect?
