Subject: Re: newbie question

Further investigation would indicate that the HD6845SP chip may be faulty.

The MA7 output (pin 11) sits permanently at a sort of half-way level,
neither 0 nor 1.

Now, is there any way I can get a replacement? From my Google searches, it
appears the the SP version is different from the _normal_ versions of the
chip. This is borne out when I replace it with a SY6565-1 or SY6845E. Both
make the BBC go crazy, display-wise.

Suggestions?
