I've managed to obtain two new and tested 1770 and 1772 to replace the duff
1770 on the 1770 Daughterboard in my Beeb.

When inserting the daughterboard in any standard Beeb with a working 1770
Interface it causes it to hang, no display, and a long beeb...........(if I
remove the 1770/1772 from the socket on the daughterboard Beeb behaves as
normal.

Do you think the three TTL chips are to blame, 74LS02, 74ALS00 and a
74LS173?
