I've often thought about this idea and it should be quite easy to
implement. 
I don't have a circuit in fornt of me right now but you'd probably need:
 - 12 volt battery pack
 - remove existing AC power supply and replace with a small switched-mode
 converter that supplies +5,  and -5V.
 - Get one of those 5.6" TFT TV/monitors for the monitor (if you can find
 one that accepts RGB video, even better). Config the beeb to output
 colour information out via the composite video socket (jumper or
 capacitor). 
 - Use a 3.5" disk drive, you could probably squeeze one one in the case,
 I'm sure I saw a pic of one in a M128 case recently.

There you are, a fully mobile system. :^)
