Hmm, I'm about to try this later today if I get time. Will report back
if I have any luck.

I'd quite like one for taking raw disk images for archival purposes (I'm
less interested in transferring individual files), where no assumptions
are made about the 'server' side; ability to use any old comms program
or even 'cat' to the serial device under Unix would be useful.

I've never found a PC disk controller that can handle BBC floppies, so
serial transfer's the only way to go it seems.

Well you already know more than me :-)

Theoretically, I'm sure something along the lines of reading every block
from a disk on the beeb and spitting it down the serial line - or vice-
versa - can't be that hard, but it's still more than I know how to do.
Errors could be left displayed on the BBC side.
