I had a problem similar to this on a Model B too. I found with my one
, that 
flexing the motherboard near the center 6522 VIA (System VIA?) would
make the 
keys work again and so I assumed there was cracked track there. I hav
en't got 
around to investigating it further. If it's not the VIA, it could be
another 
keyboard logic chip that is losing contact.

No harm in giving it a good clean either.
