Yes, with later versions of Watford DDFS. Earlier versions of
Watford's DDFS interface and the DDFS that went with it put the
Floppy Disk Controller in a different part of the memory map to
Acorn's 1770 upgrade. Later versions used the same addressing as
Acorn. Watford DDFS 1.54 will use the Acorn 1770 upgrade.
 
Watford DFS version numbers use the following scheme:
1.1x - 8271 FDC
1.2x - I haven't seen this, but I presume 8271 FDC
1.3x - 8271 FDC
1.4x - 8271 FDC
1.5x - 1770 FDC
1.xxT - includes Tube host code
