I have a funny feeling we have a spare Unilab interface - if that's any
use I can ask and see... (although if you have the skills to muck around
with robotics you can probably build the equivalent in a few minutes :) 

I've still not seen any kind of period robot arm; I'm still looking for
one for the museum. Building one might not be that difficult out of some
off-the-shelf construction stuff like meccano though - I just wouldn't
fancy making one from scratch out of metal sheet. 

Well, at least something driven by stepper motors anyway. I've got no
idea where to source the bits to do anything with hydraulics...

(incidentally we're on the lookout for any surplus meccano bits at the
moment just for projects like these - robotics projects are the sort of
things that would make interesting public displays)
