Subject: Re: BBC using 3.5 high density format

Greg, I thought a routine like that could work. Would you have to read and
buffer the whole track?
Atari STEs use the ajax controller, which is atari's modified version of
the wdc1772-02-02. I beleive other atari models may use the ajax or wdc
1772-02-02 as standard. The ajax controller is recommended for hd, as there
has been some concern that the high clock rate could damage the 1772-02-02,
not sure wether this is the case.
Should not be difficult to get your hands on an atari ste to salvage the
fdc. Could even swap with the beeb 1770 and atari ste would still be able t
o
use their standard drives, which are not high density.
 Regards,
Paul.
