By the magic of turning a Master upside down I discovered a label
with the relevant information. It turns out it's less, not more.
 
        BBC B            Master
+5v     1.25A            900mA (0.9A)
+12v    1.25A            1A
-5v     75mA  (0.075A)   75mA  (0.075A)
 
More than plenty to drive two IDE drives at 225mA!
