All three systems I've had installed are combi systems. I've not
had a bath in decades, so the lack of large amounts of hot water
doesn't concern me, but I've been researching supplimentary
heating systems - where you use spare heat from the environment
(solar heating, ground heat, waste heat in waste water, etc) so
the water needs heating less to get to the required temprature. If
the sunlight has already got it from 12degrees to 18degrees, I
only need to spend money on gas to raise it from 18degrees to
32degrees instead of the full rise from 12 degrees to 32degrees.

Anyway, supplimentary heating systems need a hot water storage
tank, to store that supplimentary heat, so I need a non-combi
system.

That's about right:

Flat: 7 rads plus hot water : `2300
Shop: 8 rads plus hot water : `2530
House: 6 rads plus hot water, gas installation only: `800

There are three food groups: brown, green and ice cream.
