There is no electric protection of that sort. However, I think the socket on
the motherboard is offset slightly so you would have to insert it at an
angle to vertical to get it in backwards.

There's plenty of space on the front for a big "this way up" label to remind
you though, and it is described in the user guide too. If anyone wants to
get some plastic mouldings made I'd be delighted!
