Ask the easy questions, why don't you? :-)

The Acorn ones are slightly tapered - i.e. the sides aren't straight and the
bottom's smaller than the top.

Top of the box is 76x50mm externally, bottom of box is 72x47mm. Box is 26mm
high with the lid on. Sides are 1.5mm thick, and you lose about 4mm in each
direction internally at each corner for the screw posts.

The PCB is 69x42mm, and needs about 20mm of clearance (including solder /
component legs beneath the board). The PCB sits on a bit of foam in the Acorn
boxes to make it the right height so that the sockets sit flush with the holes
in the box lid.

PCB corners are removed so that they don't foul the screw posts on the box -
4mm in the longer direction, 2.5mm in the shorter.

Wouldn't surprise me if you can't buy the right PCB-mounting 5-pin DIN sockets
these days, though!

cheers

Jules
