Hmm, address selection logic maybe? The faults 'feel' memory-related, but it's 
strange how changing the bank config gives different symptoms but doesn't cure 
the fault. I can't remember how the memory refresh is done in a beeb now, but 
I wonder if there's a problem there; flakey refresh might explain the somewhat 
random behaviour...

I think the service manual's on bbcdocs.com; I'd expect it's got various 
symptom/fault diagnosis pages and might list one or more of the problems that 
you're getting. Worth a look if you haven't done so already.
