Subject: Master ET

I've been fixing up a couple of Masters I've got, including the Master ET
I recently got from Wales. Once I'd put a mains cable on and fixed the resultant
exploded capacitor, then reset the CMOS and configured it, it seems to work,
except a wierd problem with the RTC. It runs much too fast. Does anybody
know what might be causing this? I thought maybe the RTC needs good batteries
to work even with the machine switched on, but this was just a guess and
I wonder if anyone could shed any light on this before I go and make up a
battery pack.

I'll probably be putting the machine on eBay anyway, because I've got far
too many computers, and the ET is completely useless to me (although I'd
love a working Econet).

Alex Taylor.
