Yes we went through that manual and checked all the config settings, only
thing different is that the VFS rom is in slot 8 instead of slot 15, so we
configured accordingly.

Yes we looked at this great guide and this helped us get through some of our
earlier problems, but not the sideways ram as you have pointed out.

One tip for anyone else, is to make sure the cmos batteries are ok. I
thought we could get away without the batteries, but this caused so many
problems with VFS where it would revert to ADFS or no filing system after
ctrl-break or break.

I thought that seemed like the case, but did not know what configuration
options were available for the sideways ram. Thanks for the info, I will
pass this on and hopefully it will get us a bit forward.
