Subject: Watford Electronics 32K ROM/RAM board

Hi,

I've recently acquired a 2nd hand Beeb with a WE 32K Rom/Ram board. It's
fitted with 16k of static RAM and the manual says that this can be backed
up with "a PCB mounting type NiCad battery (2.6v)".

I'd like to fit a battery but I'm wondering if this is a typo - i.e. should
it read 3.6v? All the rechargeable batteries I've seen are in multiples of
3.6v. Also, I believe that the ATPL Sidewise board took a 3.6v PCB battery.

Did anyone ever fit a battery to a WE? Is it safe to fit something like a
Varta 3.6v NiMH battery?

Thanks,

Rob
