Subject: 5.25" Disks for sale

It's a real shame that 5.25" HD discs don't work on Beebs. I bought some
from Viking a few years ago when they were still doing them, only to find
that they weren't any use.

Unless somebody knows a trick equivalent to covering up the second hole
on 3.5" HD discs?

Best wishes,

Ian

Not really, as the magnetic coercivity of HD is very different from
single- or double-density, 650 Oersted rather than 300 Oe. Whilst they
might appear to work initially (if they format at all, which they often
don't), any reliability would be illusory.
