I'm sorry if I am coming across as a jerk, I've just re-read my text and 
it does look a little aggressive although honestly it wasn't meant that 
way and I hope Jon (you there?) understands at least if not yourself, understands
this; if you heard me speak them words instead of just reading cold text
then you'll see that I wasn't being a "jerk".

Protecting intellectual property is fine as long as it's just to prevent 
someone else claiming its ownership but when it curtails a user's freedom 
of use then I think it's unethical and I'm sorry if not everyone has the 
same moral compass but not everyone here is a capitalist.  If someone else
decides to curtail a user's freedom like Micro$oft then there's not a great
deal most people can do other than perhaps think twice about buying the product.
