It is (was) easier to get hold of and interface to 4K EPROMs than
2K ones, and it leaves spare space for expansion or built-in
software. The Z80 CoPro code and CPM support fits into about 1.5K,
but the ROM has a handful of debugging tools as well that takes it
to about 3K.
