Subject: New Screen Modes with ARM7 Co-Processor?

At the back of my mind I remember something from the Advanced
User Guide or suchlike which allowed you to program your own 
screen mode.  The example they had either gave higher resolution or
more colours using half of the usual RAM requirement for the standard
screen mode.

So, with memory in abundance on the ARM7 co-processor, would there
be a way of creating new screen modes, say an 8-colour mode at
Mode 0 resolution, or even higher?
