Subject: Master Compact Questions (case cut-outs and econet

Hello. :)

I've been lucky enough to be given a Master Compact. It does have a few
issues but I am in the process of sorting these out (and some I have
sorted out already)

A couple of questions though...

1. As this machine has an eeprom (I think) rather than the more usual
battery backed cmos, will I need a special version of SetStation for a
Compact ? , I do have a version for the standard Master but have not
tried that yet (not fitted the Econet board yet)

2. More curiosity but I would like to know. On the left side of the main
(the computer!) unit, there is a small removable section held in place
with a screw. What was this intended for ? , I'd have a random guess at
possibly the potentiometer (if fitted) for volume control. Probably
totally wrong guess though :)

3. Along the same lines as (2), there is another cutout with a nice
factory blank about the centre of the back. What was this intended for ?
, I cannot think of much for this one, apart from passing some kind of
cable through but for what ?

Thanks as usual :)

Andy.
