The only problem I've ever had is with peripherals with insufficient
cable length. Sometime it's been trying to find a suitable cable for
homemade stuff, like the 3.5" floppy I made from an ex-Atari ST Cumana
drive that I got for free because some fool had chopped the cable off
(otherwise I'd have used it with an ST). I modified a standard
internal PC floppy cable but it's barely long enough.

The most annoying ones have been those double 5.25" Cumana drives with
the two drives side-by-side. I couldn't find anywhere to put them
except next to the machine, where they used up loads of space. The
design looked like it should have fitted underneath or on top of the
monitor, but the cable was nowhere near long enough. I think I still
have one of those drives hiding somewhere in the shed,
