Subject: Fw: Fwd: ITV Teletext to shut down in January

At one point (1989) I tried getting the Beeb *itself* to generate
teletext encoding... I redefined the screen to be, what, 45
characters wide, moved the start line up into the VBI, and poked the
right sequence of bytes into the top line ..

It didn't work, but I didn't try for very long as the only tv with
teletext was at the other end of the flat, and although I'd connected
it to the beeb (using the cable normally used to send TV *to* the
spare room) It was being missed for tv viewing, and was a bit far to
keepo waking backwards and forwards.

So .. would it work?
