Subject: A new Element 14

That's what I get for not reading Chris's site properly!

He has a picture of an A440 with a red keyed keyboard, but on reading the
words properly, he says the keyboard's from an A310.

Regards

Michael

Perhaps that's just expressed badly (I'm not exactly sure what Michael
means by "multi-box"), but it's not correct. The A305, A310, A310M,
A3000, and A3020 all have red function keys because they're affiliated
to the BBC; the first three of these are multi-box machines and the
other two are single-box. The A410, A440, A410/1, A420/1, A440/1, R140,
and successors (A4000, R260, A540, A5000 etc) all have grey function
keys, and are all multi-box; of these, the A440 and A410 are
contemporary with the A305/310 and all up to the R140 are either
contemporary with or predate the 3000. The A3010 has green function
keys as it's purely intended as a home machine.
