Also, something I notice a lot in a certain sub-genre of Sci-Fi -
stuff lasts forever!  As anybody whom has had anything to do with even
30 year old tapes & drives knows, the stuff most certainly doesn't.

(anybody ever see "The starlost" ?  Multiple generations later, they
are still usng the same cassettes ...)


Heck, I once had to do some work in the cable runs in a factory that
had been empty for a only a few years - somebody had left the lights
on up there, and now virtually all of them were out, or at least
flickering..

And everything spits pages out face-up, even when they don't normally!
